Can all stages of hair growth be treated? 2017-10-20T14:25:47+00:00

Electrolysis has come a long way in technology.  With the Apilus Senior 3G, every stage of hair cycle can be treated with excellent results!

Tip: Waxing 2-4 weeks prior to your electrolysis treatment gets all the old hairs out and new anagen hairs growing in! The new hairs coming in are all in the perfect “active” growth stage.  By manipulating mother nature by waxing or sugaring (epilating it from the root), we can treat the new growing hairs at the perfect life stage for maximum effectiveness.

Your electrologist will design a treatment plan that treats your specific hair removal needs based on a personal and private consultation.  Electrolysis is a commitment, however, is the only FDA approved method of hair removal with permanent results.

Does it hurt? 2017-10-20T14:23:48+00:00

The most recent technology has made electrolysis more comfortable and impressive than ever before.

Electrolysis is the process of completely destroying a hair follicle by electric current, so some discomfort is to be expected. Most clients say it feels like a warming, tingling or rubber band snap sensation. However, everyone will have a different experience and pain tolerance. Some clients find the treatment very tolerable and fall asleep during treatment. A good rule to remember is that if the treatment area falls within the center-line of your body, its will be more sensitive.  This includes the center of the upper lip, and genitals.

Clients with a low pain tolerance are encouraged to take a pain reliever one hour prior to treatment.  It is also recommended to use a topical numbing cream, covered in plastic wrap at least one hour prior to treatment. This will assure the client with the ultimate pain free experience.  Studies have shown, distraction methods such as talking, listening to music, or reading a book during treatment can significantly reduce pain levels.

The technology used in the Apilus Senior 3G delivers the most comfortable treatment in as little as a fraction of a second.  With 10 treatment modalities to choose from, you can be sure your electrologist will provide you with a custom treatment plan to accommodate your comfort needs.

**** Electrolysis can improve your natural beauty with sophisticated, hair-free and healthy-looking skin for an awesome look that makes you stand out.

Is it permanent? 2017-10-20T14:00:52+00:00

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved method to remove hair permanently.  Hairs are individually treated until complete destruction of the follicle occur.  Difficult, thick, deep or distorted hair follicles often need more than one treatment to eliminate all regenerative cells.

Does electrolysis work on blond hair? 2017-10-20T13:59:54+00:00

Yes! Unlike lasers, electrolysis works on any hair color.  Only the hair follicle is being treated so hair color does not play a role in the elimination of unwanted hair. Clients with blond or gray hair are excellent candidates for electrolysis.

How many treatments will I need? 2017-10-20T13:58:28+00:00

Expect weekly or bi-weekly visits to your electrologist for the first few months.  As your hair thins out, treatments will be tapered off to once a month until all hair is removed.

Electrolysis is a slow but thorough process and only one hair is treated at a time.

The number of treatments required varies from one individual to another. The treatment ranges from 15 minutes to more than an hour in some cases depending on the area being treated. Please take into consideration the amount of hairs per area and the amount of time you can commit to each week.  Clients who come in regularly for one hour will have faster results than clients who comes in only once per month for thirty minutes. Deep, coarse hairs cannot always be removed with one treatment; therefore, eliminating hair growth cells may require additional treatments.  Large areas such as the back, legs, or bikini line will take several sessions.  On the other hand, the chin, eyebrows, or upper lip might take fewer sessions.  Factors such as hair growth cycles, previous use of hair removal methods, the amount and difficulty of hair present, hormones, heredity, and stress changes the treatment plan for each client.

Can unwanted hair be eliminated from anywhere on the body? 2017-10-16T17:48:25+00:00

Electrolysis can be carried out on most facial and body parts, including: the eyebrows, chin, upper and lower lip, breast & underarms, abdomen, bikini line, legs and back, jaw line, neck, sides of the face, ears and hairline.  Electrolysis can be used to reshape an existing hair line as well as creating a more feminine hairline.  Based on a personal and private consultation with your electrologist, a treatment plan will be tailored to your personal hair elimination needs.

Can women start or have electrolysis treatment during pregnancy? 2017-10-16T17:45:34+00:00

At this time, Bare Electrolysis does not provide services to women who are pregnant or think they could be pregnant.  Many electrologists require a letter from your doctor authorizing treatment during pregnancy.  It is strongly advised to seek advice from your physician before beginning any treatment while pregnant.  Galvanic current is NOT recommended during pregnancy as the current flows through the body. Thermolysis does not flow through the body and has been not been found to have an effect on a fetus. However, not enough studies have been done at this time to determine the risk.

Can hairs be eliminated from mole? 2017-10-16T17:39:20+00:00

Electrolysis can be carried out on most moles where states allow it. Your electrologist may request for a written approval from your physician to go ahead.

What should I do between treatments? 2017-10-16T17:37:44+00:00

Do not wax, sugar, pluck or use any method to remove the hair by the root. Shaving, trimming or using a cream depilatory to remove the hair in between treatments is okay. Removing hair by the root stimulates blood supply to the area, therefore, nourishing the remaining cells. When the hair regrows, it comes in thicker and deeper every time. This creates a more difficult treatment for the electrologist; the deeper the hair, the more difficult it will be to treat it. It is important to stay on a regular schedule with your electrologist. This is crucial to receiving an effective treatment with lasting results.

Should I tip my electrologist? 2019-06-03T14:50:24+00:00

Electrolysis is a salon service that falls somewhere in between a waxer and permanent makeup artist. If you regularly tip your waxer, threader, esthetician, or permanent makeup artist, you are welcome to leave a gratuity for your electrologist. Monetary tips are always appreciated but NEVER required.
